Chandigarh: To get married, he introduced himself as an inspector of the FCI department and kept misleading his wife and in-laws for 4 years. When the secret started coming out, he said that he was earlier an inspector in Pansap and after resigning, he took up a job in the FCI department.
When this fraud was revealed after 4 years, on the complaint of the girl, an FIR was registered in Women Station Patiala against the accused Rohit Chawla, his mother Bimla Chawla, father Madanlal resident of Kaithal, Haryana, besides Rajni Luthra who played the role of middleman and her son Himanshu Luthra.
The father of the victim girl said that the woman who played the role of middleman and her family used to come to the house. Due to knowing each other for a long time, he trusted the accused and got his daughter married to the accused in January 2020. After marriage, the child was born and at that time there was a lockdown due to Covid. During this time, the accused did not allow the daughter to come.
After the lockdown was over, it was found out that their son-in-law is not an inspector in FCI and he does some other job in the Chandigarh area. Due to sitting idle at home, domestic quarrels started increasing, after which a family compromise was reached. When the family that arranged the marriage talked about this, they also refused. Due to this they complained to the police and registered an FIR.
