New Delhi: Hours after meeting Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia joined the Congress party officially. Party’s general secretary KC Venugopal, party leader Pawan Khera, Haryana Congress chief Udai Bhan and AICC in-charge of Haryana, Deepak Babaria were present at the joining event.
Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia will contest the assembly elections. Phogat’s ticket from Julana in Jind is considered certain. However, since cousin Babita Phogat did not get the BJP ticket, the option of a Dadri seat is also open for her. Congress sources say that Vinesh will file a nomination on September 11.
While Bajrang Punia can be given the responsibility of campaigning as a star campaigner. Bajrang was demanding Badli seat of Jhajjar. Congress refused to cut the ticket of sitting MLA Kuldeep Vats from here. Bajrang can be given a big post in the organization. He will campaign all over Haryana.
At the same time, the statement of former WFI President Brij Bhushan Singh is also going viral regarding this. In this, he is saying that “when the allegations were made against me, I had said then that this is a conspiracy of Congress. It is of Deependra Hooda and Bhupendra Hooda. Earlier on September 4, Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia met Rahul Gandhi in Delhi. After meeting Rahul, they also met Congress National General Secretary KC Venugopal. After this, Congress did not give any information about what was discussed in the meeting. Both the wrestlers have also kept silence about their political bets. It is told that both of reached New Delhi and will be joining Congress around 1.30pm.
