Fire set in slipper’s warehouse in Bhiwani

Goods worth Rs 3 lakh and a bike were burned; a suspect was seen on CCTV. 

Bhiwani: In Haryana’s Bhiwani, on Sunday midnight, a person set fire to a slipper’s warehouse (Baddi). Goods worth lakhs of rupees kept there were destroyed due to the fire. The people of the neighbourhood barely controlled the fire. During this, the suspect who set the fire was captured on the CCTV camera installed there. The city police station has started investigating the case.

Pradeep Kumar, a resident of Bichla Bazaar Nai Kalal Ki Gali in Bhiwani, said he does the business of Slipper’s Baddi. He brought goods worth Rs 3 lakh and kept them in a warehouse built in the street. On Sunday, at midnight, a person set fire to the goods kept in the warehouse and fled.

At night, the people of the neighbourhood saw the flames rising. When there was noise, people gathered. The local people controlled the fire after a lot of hard work. Warehouse owner Pradeep informed us about the incident on Dial 112 last night. The police reached the spot and started investigating the incident.

Pradeep said that when the police checked the CCTV cameras installed in the street, a person was seen switching off the street light. After this, the accused was seen peeping into the warehouse. Pradeep said that he had full suspicion that the same person had set the warehouse on fire.

Due to the fire in the warehouse, goods worth about Rs 3 lakh and a bike kept there were burned to ashes. He informed the city police station about the incident. The police inspected the spot. The police are investigating. The suspect seen on CCTV is being traced.
