Ambala: Lakhs of youth of the state are waiting for the Common Eligibility Test (CET) for recruitment to Group C and D posts of Haryana Government, but till now Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) has not been able to decide its date.
However, the state government has made necessary amendments in CET and after that the process of conducting CET was to start. Due to the date not being finalized, no decision has been taken regarding the examination center yet.
However, the officials of the commission says that the round of meetings regarding CET is going on. By this week some big output can be received regarding CET.
These 4 reasons are becoming the reason for the delay
1. One time registration
Recently, the chairman of the commission, Himmat Singh, had announced in a press conference that there will be a provision of one time registration for CET. If a youth has passed the 10th examination, then he will register for CET.
After this, when he passes 12th, he will only have to update his marksheet. There will be no need for registration. This entire process can take about one and a half months, the commission can also reduce this period. However, half of January has already passed, so there is a possibility that the CET exam may be delayed.
2. Board exams in February-March
Annual examinations are to be held in Haryana in February-March. Exam centers are generally not available at this time. Therefore, even if the commission decides to organize CET as soon as possible, the exam centers are likely to be available only at the end of March or beginning of April. Delay in exams without exam centers is also a big reason.
3. Municipal elections are also to be held
Municipal elections are also to be held in Haryana this year. Municipal elections are also getting delayed due to board closure and Delhi elections. There is a possibility that the election schedule will be released in the second week of February. In such a situation, elections will be held in the last week of February or the first week of March. Delay in CET exam due to elections can be a big reason.
4. Agency is also not decided yet
Last time the state government and Haryana Staff Selection Commission worked together to organize CET. Then the National Testing Agency (NTA) had organized the CET. In this, the Principal Secretary of the then Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar played an important role in selecting NTA. Therefore, this time also the state government and the commission have to decide the agency for organizing CET.
