Amid the ‘organization creation’ process of Haryana Congress, senior leaders of the state Congress have been called to New Delhi today (Monday). The party’s national general secretary (organization), KC Venugopal, and Haryana state in-charge BK Hariprasad, will hold one-to-one discussions with senior leaders of the state Congress on the final list of district presidents.
After taking feedback from the leaders, the entire report will go to party president Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi. Congress party sources have expressed the possibility that Rahul Gandhi may also be present in this meeting to be held in New Delhi. The party leadership has broadly decided that the list of district presidents will be released first.
Only after this will a decision be taken regarding the post of state president. Currently, Chaudhary Udaybhan is in charge of the state Congress. But his term has ended. In such a situation, along with the leader of the Congress Legislature Party, the decision of the state president is also to be taken.
At the same time, there are some senior leaders of the state Congress who are not in favor of releasing the list of district presidents first. These leaders argue that if the decision of the state president is taken after appointing the district president first, then the Pradhan will not have control in the state Congress. They have also argued that the Pradhan should be appointed first, so that the state president can also be consulted in the selection of the district president.
These leaders were called to Delhi
All the senior leaders of the state Congress have been called in the meeting to be held in New Delhi in the presence of BK Hariprasad. This will not be a joint meeting, but one-to-one discussions will be held with the leaders. These mainly include former CM Bhupendra Singh Hooda, state president Udaybhan, former Union Minister and Sirsa MP Kumari Selja, National General Secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala, former Union Minister Birendra Singh, former Finance Minister Captain Ajay Singh Yadav.
It is possible that the MPs of the state and some other senior leaders may also be called in this meeting and their feedback may be taken.
