Rohtak: Haryana’s Jind CIA police have arrested the main accused of supplying narcotics in Haryana and Punjab from Jharkhand. The arrested accused has been identified as Manoranjan Yadav, a resident of Navagarh village in Ranchi district.
The police produced the accused in court and took him on a 3-day remand so that information about other facts related to the drug smuggling business could be gathered. During police interrogation, it was revealed that Manoranjan Yadav had created a network to supply drugs to other states through drivers on the National Highway.
On July 12, the CIA and Civil Lines police station seized nine quintals of poppy husk from a house near village Nirjan. In this case, the police arrested two accused on the spot and later arrested a truck driver along with the truck from Punjab. The arrested accused used to buy opium pods from farmers in Jharkhand and sell them to drivers on the Ranchi to Jamshedpur Tata National Highway.
In the greed of earning more money in less time, he started selling poppy husk and chura poppy husk six months ago. He used to sell poppy husk and chura poppy husk by contacting drivers from Haryana, Punjab, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh on the Ranchi-Jamshedpur Tata National Highway. About 20 days ago, he bought nine quintals of poppy husk from opium-cultivating farmers and sold them to Sindarpal and Rinku. The police arrested the accused, produced him in the Ranchi court, and obtained a 3-day remand.
