Haryana NCB arrests female drug smuggler in Rohtak; recovers heroin

Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau has taken a major action against drug smuggling. Rohtak unit has arrested a female drug smuggler from Meham area.

Hisar: Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau has taken a major action against drug smuggling. Rohtak unit has arrested a female drug smuggler from Meham area. 8 grams 67 milligrams of heroin has been recovered from the accused.

According to Inspector Sukhpal Singh, in-charge of Haryana NCB Rohtak Unit, the police had received a tip-off that a woman had come to supply drugs in the slums near Shri Krishna Gaushala on Farmana Road.

The police team acted immediately. The suspect was caught with the help of a female employee. The search was conducted in the presence of a gazetted officer. The accused has been identified as Poonam, a resident of Hisar.

Police engaged in investigation

A case has been registered against the accused under the NDPS Act in Meham police station. Police is investigating from where the accused brought the drugs and to whom she was to supply them. Police say that no person involved in drug smuggling will be spared.

This action is a part of Haryana government’s campaign to make the state drug-free. On the instructions of bureau chief O.P. Singh, a campaign is being run against drug smugglers in the entire state.
