Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee: HSGMC to get its first permanent committee today

Prominent Sikh leaders Jagdish Singh Jhinda and Baljit Singh Daduwal have already reached there.

Haryana Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee is going to elect its first permanent committee and head today, which is a historic step for the management of Gurudwaras and Sikh institutions of Haryana. All preparations have been completed for the election at Gurudwara Chhathi Patshahi in Kurukshetra. Prominent Sikh leaders Jagdish Singh Jhinda and Baljit Singh Daduwal have already reached there.

Panthak Dal leader Jagdish Singh Jhinda reached Gurudwara Chhathi Patshahi in Kurukshetra with his supporting members for the meeting. Before the meeting, he bowed his head in the Gurudwara and prayed. Jhinda said that his priority is to create consensus among all the members for the selection of the head and executive.

He said that we will first try to make a decision unanimously. If consensus is not reached, then the arrangement for the election is also ready. At the same time, Panthak Dal leader Jagdish Singh Jhinda said that we have 32 members with us.

In the HSGMC elections held on January 19, 2025, out of 40 seats, 22 were won by independent candidates, while Jhinda’s Panthak Dal got 9, Baldev Singh Kaimpuri’s Haryana Sikh Panthak Dal (HSPD) got 6, and Didar Singh Nalvi’s Sikh Samaj Sanstha got 3. Former ad-hoc HSGMC president Baljit Singh Daduwal lost the Kalanwali seat (ward 35) by 1,771 votes.
