Rohtak: Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau (HSNCB) Rohtak unit has arrested an accused of drug smuggling while conducting a raid in Panipat. The police had conducted a raid based on secret information, and on seeing the police, the accused started running. He was chased and caught. Drugs worth lakhs of rupees have been recovered from him. A case has been registered against the accused under the NDPS Act at Matloda police station in Panipat.
The police had received information that Bharti, a resident of village Pathri in Panipat, was standing in front of his house with a large quantity of hashish and was trying to sell it. On this information, the team raided, and on seeing the police, the accused started running. The team chased and caught him. He was identified as Bharti, a resident of village Pathri. A black bag was found with him.
After this, gazetted officer Panipat ETO Dr. Ajay Kumar was called on the spot. In front of whom the accused was searched. During this, when the bag found with Bharti was checked, Charas was recovered from it. Its weight was 1 kg, 203 grams. The accused has been arrested, and interrogation has been started. The market price of this car is said to be lakhs of rupees. Accused Bharti has studied till 12th.
Rohtak Unit Incharge Inspector Pawan Kumar said that the accused will be questioned. Action will also be taken against other suppliers after finding out about them. No person involved in drug smuggling and illegal business will be spared.
Also appealed to the general public that if they see drugs being sold anywhere, then they should inform Haryana NCB’s toll-free number 90508-91508 without any worry so that drug smugglers can be sent behind bars.
