Uklana: Bajrang Garg, Provincial President of Haryana Pradesh Vyapar Mandal, took stock of paddy procurement in Uklana grain market. There was no purchase and lifting of paddy in the market for 3 days which has been started from today.
Garg said that paddy procurement is very difficult due to the absence of the Uklana Rice Mill. The government should make a rule that any mill in Haryana can purchase paddy from anywhere so that farmers do not have to struggle in the mandis for many days to sell their paddy.
Bajrang Garg said that Chief Minister Nayab Saini had announced that paddy will be purchased at Rs 3100 per quintal from October 10. Now the Chief Minister should get paddy purchased at Rs 3100 per quintal as per his promise and farmers stand in lines from 4 am to late night to get fertilizer for the next crop. Despite that, farmers are not getting fertilizer.
Bajrang Garg said that the government should give 2.5 percent commission to the commission agents on every grain purchase like before. Whereas for the past 30 years, commission agents were getting 2.5% commission on grains. There is a lot of resentment among the traders of the state due to the government reducing the commission on wheat and paddy and also eliminating the commission on grains like cotton, mustard etc.
