Haryana’s Kiran qualified for Olympics: Completed 400 meter race in 50.92 seconds

Haryana's Kiran Pahal qualified for Olympics by completing 400 meter race in 50.92 seconds in the 63rd National Inter-State Senior Athletics Championship held at Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex, Panchkula. Kiran has presented her claim by completing the qualifying time of 50.95 for Paris Olympics.

Kiran has presented her claim by completing the qualifying time of 50.95 for Paris Olympics.

The target is to complete the race in less than 50.92 seconds

Kiran told that she is working on a plan to complete the race in less than 50.92 seconds in the semi-finals. He (Mohit) had completed the race in 52.33 seconds in the preliminary round. Tamil Nadu’s Subha had completed the race in 53.08 seconds in the first semi-final. She was also surprised to see the amazing time in the semi-finals. Kiran performed brilliantly by taking time in the Olympic Qualifiers held at Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex. At the same time, Kiran is the first Indian female quarter mile runner to qualify for the Olympics after a gap of eight years, before this Nirmal Sharon (Haryana) had qualified for the 2016 Olympics.

Top position in first semi-final

Tamil Nadu’s Subha V topped the first semi-final with a time of 53.08 seconds. Haryana’s Deepanshi won the third semi-final with a time of 52.12 seconds. The men’s 400m final will also be an exciting contest, as the top 400m runners will advance to the medal round.

Kerala’s Mohammed Anas was the fastest in the semi-finals with a time of 45.76 seconds. In the first round of women’s 5000m event, Ankita of Uttarakhand completed the race in 16:10:37 seconds, while Seema of Himachal Pradesh finished second in 16:12:27 seconds and Sanjivani Jadhav of Maharashtra finished in 16:32:35 seconds. In hammer throw, Manju Bala threw 63.66 meters, Harshit of Delhi threw 62.20 meters and Tanya Chaudhary of Uttar Pradesh threw 61.57 meters.
