In June, online applications for admission to 345 government and private colleges across the state started. After this, two merit lists were released, and later open physical counselling was conducted. Despite this, about 20 per cent of the seats in the colleges remained vacant. The admissions process ended on July 30, and regular classes started. However, some colleges sent a demand to open the admission portal again.
On this, orders have been issued by the Higher Education Department to open the portal again. Now till August 14, open physical counselling will be done at the college level every day, and seats will be filled.
Jind Government College Principal Dr Satyawan Malik said that some colleges had sent a demand to reopen the admission portal, after which the portal has been opened again. Students who have not been able to take admission yet can ensure their admission in time.
