Hisar: 10 kg poppy husk recovered from watermelon laden truck

Police have recovered more than 10 kg of narcotics near Bhatla village on Hansi to Barwala road in Hisar. Police had received secret information that two persons were carrying a consignment of poppy husk in a truck. When a truck was seen coming from Hansi, the police signaled to stop it. The truck driver was identified as Bittu and is a resident of Haryaau, district Sangrur (Punjab). The driver stopped the truck on the signal of the police. He was going from Hansi to Ludhiana via Barwala after loading watermelons from Indore.

When the police searched the cabin of the truck, a packet of narcotics was recovered from there.

Drugs were hidden under the tarpaulin
When all the watermelons were removed from the truck during the investigation, 16 packings were recovered from under the tarpaulin laid down, which were filled with narcotic substance poppy husk. When all the packing was weighed in the presence of Tehsildar Anil Kumar, it turned out to be more than 10 kg. Police have registered a case and started further investigation.
