A 6-member team of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and Bureau of Civil Aviation Security inspected the airport on Thursday, the second day. The team has raised some objections. If these are removed by February 28, then the license to operate air service will be issued to the airport by March 8.
The team, which came in view of issuing the license to the airport, reached the airport at 10 am on Thursday and started work. Except for one hour of lunch, till 5 pm, the team examined the objections raised at the airport in August 2024. During this, the team found some deficiencies. At 5 pm, the team held a meeting with the airport officials and informed them about these deficiencies.
Also, a deadline of February 28 was given to rectify these deficiencies. The team said that if the objections are rectified by this deadline, then the license will be obtained by March 8. Earlier on Wednesday also, the team examined the documents related to rectifying the objections already raised and also looked at the objections that were there.
In August 2024 also, the DGCA team inspected the airport for three days and registered 44 small and big objections. Due to these objections, the airport could not get the license. However, later all the objections were rectified and the report was sent to the DGCA.
LIS (Landing Instrument System) is yet to be installed for night landing. Till this system is not installed, the airport will not get permission for night landing of the aircraft. If the airport gets the license before this and after this the system is installed, then the Airport Authority will have to take a new license again, in which night landing will also be allowed. However, the Cat Eye Light system has been installed on the runway.
