Hisar: A case has been registered against Dharambir, a resident of village Kharbala, based on the complaint of a woman from village Sahu in the Ukalana area of Hisar district, Haryana. The complaint includes charges of dowry harassment, possession of belongings, physical assault, and threatening to kill. The investigation into the matter has begun.
In her complaint to the Ukalana police, Kajal, from village Sahu, stated that she married Dharambir from village Kharbala on January 22, 2023. Her parents had given dowry and spent around 4 lakh rupees on the wedding. Kajal mentioned that right after the marriage, she was subjected to harassment for dowry, physical abuse, and threats to her life were given.
She mentioned that on October 8, 2024, her husband and others began demanding 50,000 rupees, a gold ring, and a bike. They beat her up and threatened to kill her over this demand. The accused would tie her hands and feet and assault her. When she refused to bring the requested items, her in-laws threw her out of the house.
She also reported that all her jewelry and the dowry items given were taken by them. Now, she is living with her parents. Based on Kajal’s complaint, the police have registered a case against her husband, Dharambir, under various sections, and the investigation has started.
