Auhtorities intervene to stop 15-year-old girl’s in Faridabad

The Child Helpline team reached home; tent material had already arrived.

Faridabad: In Haryana’s Faridabad, the administration stopped the marriage of a 15-year-old minor girl on Sunday. The Child Welfare Committee had received information that a minor girl was getting married near the police station in Dabua Colony. After this, Pradeep Kumar of the Child Helpline District Protection Unit reached the spot with the police and stopped the child marriage.

When the team reached the girl’s house, preparations for the marriage were going on there. Tent material had already arrived at the house.

When the tent owner, Mohammad Ayub, was also talked to, he said that today was the wedding. We have come to set up the tent. Archana Jha from the District Child Protection Unit counseled the girl and recorded her statement. The child welfare committee has ordered the concerned police station to register a case. Action is being taken in the child marriage case.
