2 arrests in Faridabad for posting posts with weapons

The police warn those who like, comment, and share that the social media cell is keeping an eye.

Faridabad: In Haryana’s Faridabad, police have arrested two people for posting pictures with weapons on social media. These include Vicky from Tilpat and Surendra alias Gyani from Sherpur Khad. Cases have been registered against them in Palla and Bhupani police stations. The accused, Surendra, has already been booked in three cases of theft and snatching.

Police spokesperson Yashpal said that the family members of those who liked or commented on their posts or shared them further have been called and warned. They were told that if they do any illegal activity on social media in the future, a case will be registered against them and action will be taken.

He said that for this, the police have created a social media monitoring cell. It keeps an eye on those who post pictures with weapons and like or comment on them. The police have also identified many such accounts.

He said that if anyone does this, then information about him can be given to Faridabad Police’s control room number, 99991-50000.
