Sonipat: In Haryana’s Sonipat, miscreants took a driver hostage and looted his Isar Canter vehicle. The vehicle had courier goods worth lakhs of rupees going from Ambala to Gurugram. Later, the driver was tied up and thrown in the fields. After this, he informed the police about the matter. Police have registered a case at Rai police station and started an investigation.

In the complaint given to Rai police station, driver Shakib Hussain, resident of village Dera Baba Mansooh, police station district Reasi Jammu, said he is about 25 years old. He is a driver in the ETN company’s vehicle, Isar Canter. He has been driving for the company for 3 years. Last night, he left for Bilaspur Gurugram from Ambala with Express 20 company loading courier goods.

He told me that he started feeling sleepy while driving the vehicle at around 9 p.m. After this, he parked his vehicle at Golden Dhaba in front of Ashoka University near Rai on Panipat to Delhi GT Road and slept in the vehicle. At around 2 o’clock in the night, 4 boys opened the window of his vehicle and entered inside. All of them had sharp objects in their hands.

Driver Shakib said that when he refused to give the keys, the youths beat him up and snatched his mobile phone and the keys of the vehicle. They tied his mouth to the vehicle itself. Then these four boys forcibly put him in a white car parked ahead. During this, his hands and feet were also tied. After this, they made him sit in their car and leave.

He told me that the youths kept roaming with him in the car for a long time at night. After this, they left him in the fields and ran away with their car. He was tied up in the fields all night. In the morning, he started screaming. After this, a person came to him and freed his hands, legs, and mouth. He was lying in the fields of Kumaspur village at that time. He then informed the police about the incident.
