Councillor had contested election on fake marksheet, ACS

Jind: In Jind, District Councillor Angrez from Dhola Mandi of Ward 7 has been suspended from the post of councillor. The Additional Chief Secretary took this action after the approval of the Chief Minister and the Panchayat Minister on the complaint of Anurag Khatkar, who lost the election from Dhola. A case is already registered against Angrez alias Dhola Mandi in the Civil Lines Police Station for contesting elections on the basis of fake documents. Now orders have been issued to suspend him.

Several candidates including Anurag Khatkar, resident of Sudkain Khurd, Angrez alias Dhola and Jitendra Chhattar contested the election from Ward 7 of the Zilla Parishad. In which Angrez alias Dhola Mandi won by getting 102 votes more than the rival candidate Anurag Khatkar and was elected councilor. After this, Anurag Khatkar, a resident of village Sudkain Khurd, on 28 February 2023, through the DC, complained to the Election Commission and the Panchayat and Development Department, saying that the mark sheet of Angrez alias Dhola Mandi is fake. The mark sheet of the second youth has been edited and Angrez has been written in place of the other’s name. Also, the date of birth has also been changed.

Investigation started on Anurag’s complaint and first SDM and then CEO investigated. The investigation report was submitted to the DC and the DC sent the report to the Director of Development and Panchayat Department. On the report of SDM and CEO, the then DC Dr. Manoj Kumar recommended the Director of Development and Panchayat Department to cancel the Zilla Parishad membership of Dhola Mandi.

On November 17, 2023, a case of fraud was also registered against Angrez at Civil Lines Police Station. Now after the approval of CM and Panchayat Minister, ACS suspended Angrez alias Dhola from the post of Zilla Parishad on Tuesday.
