Panchkula: In Haryana, a program was organized by the Ashwini Gupta Memorial Trust in memory of the late Ashwini Gupta at the PWD Rest House located in Sector 1 of Panchkula. Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya attended this program as the chief guest. In this program, he honoured the top students in 10th and 12th by giving them prizes.
Governor Bandaru Dattatreya said that it is my great fortune that I have had the opportunity to attend the felicitation ceremony of meritorious students and teachers organized by the Ashwini Gupta Memorial Trust today. I congratulate all the students and teachers who received awards here and wish them a bright future. Ashwini Gupta Memorial Trust has been established to cherish and advance his ideals. Governor Bandaru Dattatreya said that Shri Ashwini Gupta was the son of Vidhan Sabha Speaker Gyan Chand Gupta.
Governor Bandaru Dattatreya said that in this honour ceremony, students securing first, second, and third positions in the 10th and 12th grades are being honoured. Along with this, 12 teachers who have done excellent work have also been honoured. It is a matter of great pride that all the students being honoured are from government schools.
Governor Bandaru Dattatreya said that knowledge and education are more powerful than wealth. Education should be of high quality. Because education only gives you progress and respect in life. Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar has received this honour by doing a PhD at the three most famous universities in the world. He said that poverty should not come in the way of education.
He said that our government has prepared a new education policy and has set a target to implement it in the entire state by the year 2025, on which work is going rapidly. He said that Panchkula has come from the 20th position to the first position.
It has to be maintained in the first position next year, too. The state government has decided to spend 17% of the total budget on education.
So that facilities can be provided to educate the children.
In this program, Assembly Speaker Gyan Chand Gupta said that for the last 10 years, development has been done in the Panchkula district by building roads, buildings, and bridges. Rs 5500 crore was spent on development works. Despite having all the facilities, Panchkula was lagging in terms of education.
He said that education was given through online medium during the Covid pandemic. The system of online studies was started by starting smart classes in 17 schools. He said that this online method was the beginning of achieving today’s opportunity, and due to this one step, Panchkula was successful in coming to the first position from the 20th position today.
