Haryana: In Panipat, a shed of a newly constructed house in Shanti Nagar came in contact with the 220 KV line running from Dhulkot of Bhakra Beas Management Board. Due to which, with a huge explosion, all the contents of the house were burnt to ashes. Not only this, all the electrical equipment in two other houses around this house also got burnt.
At the same time, everything from the electric fittings inside the houses to the electric meters installed on the poles were burnt to ashes. It was fortunate that when the shed of the house came in contact with 220 KV, the family members came out of the house after hearing a loud explosion. At the same time, the workers working on the two-storey building of the house also left their work and came down from other roofs.
Within no time the fire took a huge form. The fire department was immediately informed about this. The fire department team also immediately reached the house and controlled the fire by spraying water on it, but the entire contents of the house including all the equipment were burnt to ashes. Bhakra Beas Management Board was immediately informed about the incident.
On which the 220 KV line was closed with immediate effect. XEN Mohit Kumar Dahiya, SDO Ajitesh Raja and JE Balram Sharma of Bhakra Beas Management Board from Kurukshetra reached the spot to take stock of the incident. He told that he has already issued a notice to the owner regarding the house under construction.
He was told not to get construction done near this high tension wire. However, construction was not stopped. He also gave notices to many other houses on the spot and gave strict instructions to them to remove their constructions. During this, the BBMB team also made the local people aware.
