Tragic incident of Panipat: 2 friends drown in Yamuna, 1 rescued

Two of the three friends of 11th and 12th grade who went to bathe in Yamuna on the UP border adjacent to Panipat in Haryana died due to drowning.

Panipat: In Panipat, three friends of Vidyanand Colony had gone on a bike to take a bath in Yamuna in the afternoon. As all three got down to take a bath in a river, they were swept away by the strong current in Yamuna. The farmers working nearby heard the noise as those children shouted for help. After which, the divers saved Shiva safely, but Vikas and Prince were swept away by the current of the Yamuna. After a lot of hard work, the bodies of both were recovered by the Kairana police station of UP, and information about the incident was given to Haryana Police and family members.

According to the information, Prince was a student of class 11 and Vikas was a student of class 12 at Model Sanskriti School, Panipat. Shiva is also a student in class 12. There was a deep friendship between the three. All three often stayed together, and none of them knew how to swim. On Tuesday afternoon, all three reached Yamuna in the UP area on the same bike to take a bath. All three jumped into Yamuna 700 meters before the Yamuna Bridge. While bathing, all three reached deep water. When they started drowning, they started shouting for help.

The farmers who were plowing the banks of the Yamuna raised an alarm seeing that three were drowning in the Yamuna river. After hearing the farmers voice for help, the divers jumped into the Yamuna. The divers took Shiva out of the Yamuna safely, but Prince and Vikas were not found. After about an hour of hard work, the divers took out the bodies of Prince and Vikas.

After getting the information about the three friends drowning in the canal, Kairana Police Station Incharge Virendra Singh Kasana reached the spot with the police team. With the help of divers, the bodies of Vikas and Prince were taken out after about an hour and taken to Shamli Hospital, and the incident was reported to Haryana Police and the family members.
