Chandigarh: In private hospitals in Haryana, treatment with the Ayushman Bharat-Chirayu Haryana card has stopped. Private hospitals have taken this decision after the government stopped payment. Due to this, patients are facing a lot of problems.
More than 1.3 crore Ayushman-Chirayu cards have been made in the state. Out of this, 90 lakh cardholders have availed of the facility.
More than 600 private hospitals are included in the Ayushman Yojana panel in Haryana. The government owes about Rs 200 crore. 20 percent of this is from Hisar alone. The Indian Medical Association (IMA) says that doctors will not treat cardholders until the government does not provide relief.
At the same time, Health Minister Dr. Kamal Gupta has appealed to the doctors not to stop treatment. The government is solving their problem. Their problem will be resolved by July 15.
The government owes about Rs 200 crore to private hospitals. Recently, this outstanding amount had reached about 300 crores, but after a meeting with Health Minister Gupta, the government deposited 90 crores in the accounts.
About 4 thousand people in the state get treatment under the Ayushman Yojana every day. The claim of the hospitals in the state is around Rs 4 crore every day. In such a situation, if the payment is delayed even for a month, then about 400 crores of rupees go pending.
Health Minister Dr. Kamal Gupta said that private hospitals cannot refuse to treat patients like this. This causes problems for the patients. There is a problem getting the claim from the CMS portal run by the Center. The process of creating the portal is going slowly. This is being fixed.
90 doctors have been recruited in Haryana who will look into the cases related to the Ayushman Yojana. This will not cause problems for the doctors in getting the claim. At the same time, we are going to give another relief. It will be approved soon. After 15 days, whatever claim payment is late will be given to the hospitals with interest.
There are 1.3 crore card holders in the state. Out of these, 74 lakh 33 thousand 548 cards have been made under Chirayu Haryana, and 28 lakh 89 thousand cards have been made under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana.
Under the scheme, claims of more than Rs 1130 crore have been given for the treatment of about 9 lakh patients in the state. At the same time, a claim of Rs 90 crore was transferred to the accounts recently. The benefit of this scheme is being given to those families whose annual income on the family identity card is up to Rs 1.80 lakh.
Under the Ayushman scheme, in cases of hospitalization, free treatment is given for corona, cancer, kidney disease, heart attack, dengue, chikungunya, malaria, knee and hip transplantation, infertility, cataracts, and other identified serious diseases.
IMA state head Dr. Ajay Mahajan said that we are constantly writing letters to the government and making them aware of the problem, but no cognizance has been taken yet. This has caused anger in the hospitals listed under the Ayushman scheme. 600 hospitals across the state have been listed in it.
