Stir in Kaithal after bodies of two youths found; one died of drug overdose, murder suspected in other

In the initial investigation of the police, drug overdose is suspected in one case and murder in the other.

There was a stir in Kaithal on Tuesday when the bodies of two youths were found in a single day. The first body was found near Vidyakar Lake on Park Road and the second near Chungi on Jind Road. In the initial investigation of the police, drug overdose is suspected in one case and murder in the other. Investigation of both cases has been started.

One died of drug overdose 

The body found near Vidyakar Lake on Park Road is of Deepak, a 30-year-old youth of the city. Police say that Deepak is suspected to have died of drug overdose. The body has been sent to the District Civil Hospital for postmortem, and the exact cause of death will be known after the report comes.

Murder suspected in another case

At the same time, the second body found near Chungi on Jind Road is of 38-year-old migrant laborer Ramvilas, a resident of Belkhara village of Raebareli district of Uttar Pradesh, who used to work in Kaithal’s Khal Mill. Police suspect that Ramvilas was murdered by another laborer Ganesh from his own village.

According to DSP Sushil, the incident took place around 11 pm on Monday night, when both the labourers were eating and drinking together. During this, they argued over something. When Ramvilas started sleeping, Ganesh attacked his neck with an iron rod, due to which he died on the spot.

Anaj Mandi Chowki in-charge Rajendra said that Ramvilas had been working in Kaithal for the last several years and was unmarried. Accused Ganesh is also a resident of the same village.

Police starts investigation 

As soon as the incident was reported, the police reached the spot and took the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem. The police have registered a case against the accused Ganesh under sections of murder and have started raids in search of him.

DSP Sushil said that both cases are being thoroughly investigated. Police teams have been formed to arrest the accused soon in the case of murder of the migrant labourer.
