Kurukshetra, July 11: In Kurukshetra, at around 9 am, a speeding Skoda car hit an auto carrying a deaf and dumb child and staff to school. In this accident, 9 people, including 4 deaf and dumb children travelling in the auto, were injured. All of them have been admitted to a government hospital for treatment.
According to the information, driver Ashok Kumar was going to drop 8 deaf and dumb children and school staff in his auto from the new bus stand to the Sarthak Deaf and Dumb School in Sundarpur. This school belongs to retired DC Sumedha Kataria. As soon as they reached near Akashvani Kendra Kurukshetra on Mini Secretariat Road, a speeding Skoda car hit the auto. As soon as the collision took place, the auto collided with the divider.
Shouting at the scene
As soon as the accident happened, there was a lot of shouting and screaming at the spot. The people nearby immediately took the children and the injured out of the auto and informed the ambulance and dial-112 about the incident. With the help of the ambulance, the injured were taken to LNJP hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.
These children and staff got injured
The injured include Harsh (10), Jasmeet (11), Ayush (9), Virender (10), Principal Santosh Pahuja, staff teachers Neelam, Rimpi, Reena and driver Ashok Kumar (34). Among them, driver Ashok Kumar’s condition is worse. On receiving the information, the children’s family members also rushed to the hospital. Others in the auto also suffered minor injuries.
The accused fled leaving the car behind
Investigating officer SI Dheer Singh said that after the accident the accused car driver fled from the spot. Police has taken the car into custody. Police is scanning the nearby CCTV cameras. Further action will be taken on the basis of the statement. At present, the police is investigating the matter.
