Ludhiana: Ludhiana police have arrested five members of the robber gang. Police have also recovered looted cars, scooters, and stolen mobile phones from their possession. Apart from this, huge amounts of drugs have also been recovered from the arrested culprits. The police have registered a case against them, presented them in court, and also obtained three days of remand.
ACP Amandeep Singh Brar said that the crime branch team has arrested Akashdeep Singh, a resident of village Ladiyaan Kalan Ludhiana; Rahul alias Gopi, a resident of Ladia Ludhiana; and Rohit, a resident of Tarn Taran. A looted car and four stolen mobile phones have been recovered from their possession.
He said that when the police party searched their car during the blockade, 510 grams of heroin were also recovered from the car. The culprits wanted to supply it further in Ludhiana. He told me that all three have been arrested, a case has been registered, and they have been presented in court and remanded for 3 days, where the police are likely to get important clues.
Similarly, the police have also arrested two other culprits. They used to target passersby at gunpoint. Especially after the factory was over, they used to surround the workers on the way and loot them. Sherpur Police Incharge Harpal Singh said that during the blockade, the police arrested Jaswinder Singh, alias Jassi, a resident of Shimlapuri, and Suraj, a resident of Model Town Ludhiana, and recovered the stolen scooter, iron chisels, stolen gold chain, and nine mobile phones from their possession.
He said that these culprits mostly targeted factory workers. The police arrested them by conducting a blockade. A case has been registered against the accused, and they have been sent to jail.
