A sensational incident took place in the Kurukshetra district of Haryana on Friday night. A liquor contractor was shot dead in Meena Market of Shahbad town. The incident took place around 8 pm.
It is being told that the deceased liquor contractor was going to Chandigarh. On the way, he stopped his car to buy cigarettes in Meena Market of Shahbad. Then suddenly two bike-borne miscreants reached there and opened fire on the contractor.
According to the people present at the spot, the miscreants fired about 7 to 9 rounds. The contractor was hit by three bullets. Hearing the sound of bullets, people nearby reached the spot. The seriously injured contractor was taken to Adesh Hospital near Mohri, where doctors declared him dead.
As soon as the information about the incident was received, the police reached the spot, took possession of the body and sent it for postmortem and started investigating the matter. The police said that the deceased was a resident of Sonipat and was in charge of a liquor shop in Shahbad area. The police and the investigation team reached the spot and examined the footage of the CCTV cameras installed nearby.
Initial investigation has revealed that this case seems to be a case of personal enmity or business dispute. The police have registered a case against the unidentified assailants and a search has been started for them. Police say that the killers will be arrested soon.
