Gurugram: A massive fire suddenly broke out in Gurugram, Haryana at 6 am today. The fire was so intense that it burnt down 200 huts in a few minutes. All the goods kept inside them were burnt to ashes. As soon as the fire was detected, there was chaos.

After this, the fire brigade was informed. It took about 3 and a half hours for the fire brigade to control the fire. 10 fire brigade vehicles were engaged in completely controlling the fire by pouring water from 3 sides.

Know about the incident in detail…

  • Fire brigade came to know at 6 o’clock, called vehicles from many places:

Gurugram’s fire officer Jaynarayan said that at 6 o’clock in the morning he got information that there was a fire near Basai Chowk. When he reached the spot, the fire had spread to about 200 huts. After this, a vehicle was first sent from Sector-37 fire station. But, the fire was very big. After this, fire brigade vehicles were called from 5 stations including Udyog Vihar, Bhim Nagar, Sector-29 and the work of extinguishing the fire started from 3 sides.

  • Joint teams conducted rescue operation:

Meanwhile, considering the possibility of someone being trapped in the fire, the civil defence team also reached the spot. Earlier, police teams had also reached the spot. At present, all the teams are jointly conducting rescue operations.

  • Police said: Shops were open in the slums:

According to the police, there were small clothes shops in these slums. All the goods inside them have been burnt now. On the question of how the fire started, fire officer Jai Narayan said that the priority of our team is to completely control the fire first. The extent of damage will be assessed later.

There are three possible reasons for the fire

  1. Someone might have set fire to the garbage, after which the spark from it reached the slums and a fire broke out.
  2. While cooking food, someone’s hut caught fire and then it spread to all the huts.
  3. Electricity wires pass through the slums; there was a short circuit in one of them and a fire broke out.

Fire officer said- cylinder did not explode otherwise there would have been loss of life.

Fire officer Jayanarayan said that we also questioned the people living here, but the cause of the fire could not be ascertained. There was no blast during the fire. Small gas cylinders were found in the slums, but luckily none of them exploded. If there had been a blast in these, there could have been a huge loss of life and property.
