In Rohtak, the meeting of the All India Kisan Sabha District Committee was held in Kishanpura Chaupal under the chairmanship of District President Preet Singh. The issue of releasing insurance claims for damaged crops, pending compensation, water problem and other local issues was discussed in the meeting, and a protest was announced at the district level on 27 May.
Kisan Sabha District Secretary Balwan Singh said that today, the shortage of irrigation and drinking water is deepening. There has been a demand from the government to increase water supply and release water in the canals, buta sufficient amount of water is not available. There has been a demand to release the pending insurance claims and pending compensation for the crop loss of farmers last year.
State General Secretary Sumit Dalal said that the angry farmers will protest at the district level on 27 May regarding the release of pending drought relief funds and other farmers’ problems. Even after this, if the government does not solve the problems of the farmers, then the movement will be intensified.
Kisan Sabha State General Secretary Sumit Dalal said that Kisan Sabha will organize a program on Labor Day on May 1. Also, they will join the nationwide strike on May 20 on issues like cancellation of four labor codes, minimum wage guarantee, legal guarantee of MSP, cancellation of smart meter scheme, withdrawal of new agricultural market policy, anti-farmer tariff policy of America and other issues.
Sumit Dalal said that panchayats will be held in villages across the district regarding the problems and demands of the farmers. The farmers’ voice will be conveyed to every household. Also, a membership campaign will be run to connect the farmers with the organization in the villages and village committees will be formed.
