A major accident took place during the work going on in the under-construction building of former BJP Mayor Madan Chauhan. A laborer died after falling down while working here. The deceased has been identified as Mahadev Colony resident Ankush alias Shubham. Although Ankush was taken to Gaba Hospital in the city for treatment in an injured state, he died during treatment.
Madan Chauhan had given the contract of his building work to contractor Sanjay Bakshi, but the family has held the contractor responsible for Ankush’s death, accusing the contractor of negligence in work. The city police station has registered a case against contractor Sanjay Bakshi on the complaint of sister Shilpa and started investigation.
In the complaint, Mahadev Colony resident Shilpa told that her brother Ankush alias Shubham worked as a laborer with contractor Sanjay Bakshi for about 12 years. The contractor had now taken the contract to build the building of former Mayor Madan Chauhan. Work was going on to install a lift in this building. On the morning of March 21, her brother Ankush had gone to work. In the evening, contractor Sanjay Bakshi called and informed that Ankush alias Shubham got injured while working. They took him to Gaba Hospital for treatment, after which Shilpa reached the hospital with other members of her family. After reaching there, she saw that Ankush’s condition was critical. He was admitted in the ICU.
