Three youths drowned in Yamuna river in Panipat: Divers conducted search operation

Panipat: Three youths drowned while bathing in the Yamuna River at 3 pm on the Haryana-UP border in Sanauli of Panipat district. On receiving information about the accident, police from both states reached the spot, and a search operation was conducted with the help of private divers. The youths were identified as Sumit (15), Sundesi.

The youths were identified as Sumit (15), Sundesi alias Sumit (14) and Nitesh (18), residents of Khotpura village. They were bathing in the Yamuna River near the Sanauli checkpoint on Thursday. All three were friends. Soon, all three drowned in the deep waters of the Yamuna River with the strong current.

Seeing them drowning, their friends Abid, Gaurav, and Rihan raised an alarm and informed the police about the matter. After this, Sanauli police station SHO Sandeep Kumar, along with the police team and Kairana Kotwali police of UP, SDM Swapnil Kumar Yadav, reached the spot.

He gathered information regarding the accident, and divers were called on the spot. Private divers from both states have been deployed in the search operation in the Yamuna River, who are searching for the three friends who drowned along with the motor boat. Even after about three hours, no trace of anyone has been found.

On the other hand, the families of the three friends have been informed about the accident, due to which there is chaos among them. This is the second big accident on Yamuna in 11 days. Recently, on 4th August, 3 people drowned. On 4th August, 8 friends from Panipat, including two brothers, died due to drowning while going to Sanauli Yamuna Ghat.
