In the letter written to the PM, the union has written that due to being single, we do not get the place in the society that we deserve. For this reason we suffer constant mental torture. Therefore our demands should be seriously considered.


‘Get your daughter-in-law-vote’ has started in 2014 elections.


In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in Haryana, the ‘Bahu Dilawo-Vote’ campaign was started by bachelors. Under this campaign, the bachelors had demanded that if we get a bride then we will vote for the leaders.

To capitalize on these sentiments of bachelors, former Agriculture Minister and former state president of Haryana BJP Om Prakash Dhankhar had promised to arrange brides from other states for the bachelors if they voted for BJP. However, that promise was not fulfilled by the former Agriculture Minister after the elections.

The number is around 5 lakhs. Haryana government has given assurance of family ID, but the reality is that single unmarried youth have to struggle a lot to make documents for it.

Under the pension scheme, men and women aged 45 to 60 years will be given a monthly pension of Rs 2750 by the government, after which it will be converted into old age pension. This pension scheme was started by former CM Manohar Lal Khattar in 2023, but it has not been started yet.
