NHM workers strike continues for the fifth day in Sirsa

Health wellness centres are locked; vaccination is being affected.

Sirsa: NHM workers are adamant on the path of agitation regarding their demands in Sirsa, Haryana. The workers working under the National Health Mission continued their protest at the Civil Hospital for the fifth day on Tuesday. The strike of NHM workers is continuously affecting everything from ambulances to vaccinations and other health services. All the health wellness centres of the district are locked.

Union’s district head, Kundan Gavadia, says that their strike will continue till the demands are accepted. Various programs, along with 10 types of services, are being affected due to their strike. The vaccination being done at the Health Wellness Center of the district is being affected. Vaccination is most affected due to the strike of hundreds of ANMs working here.

On Wednesday, NHM employees will submit a memorandum to the MLAs in the name of the CM regarding their demands. Gavadia says that the union demands that NHM employees be regularized. Till regularization, service security should be provided by implementing LTC, gratuity, earned leave, child care leave, compassionate assistance, and Haryana Civil Service Rule 2016.

Apart from this, the benefit of the Seventh Pay Commission should be given. The salary for the period of agitation by NHM employees from the year 2017 to 2022 should be considered as a duty period and released like other organizations of the Health Department. The benefit of cashless medical facilities should be provided.
