Karnal: On Munak-Gagsina Road in Karnal, drivers lost their lives in a fierce collision between two trucks on. It is being told that the tire of a truck had burst, and two drivers were changing it to fix it. Meanwhile, another truck coming from behind at high speed collided with the truck parked there, due to which both drivers came under the truck.
After getting information about this horrific accident, the police reached the spot. They admitted the seriously injured drivers, Chand and Digambar, to Kalpana Chawla Medical College in Karnal in a private vehicle, where the doctors declared both of them dead. At present, the police are investigating this matter.
In the police complaint, Sagar, a resident of Panipat, said that Chand Singh, a resident of Kaithal, and Digambar Singh, a resident of Rajasthan, used to work as truck drivers. Yesterday, on Monday night, at around 10 o’clock, while going from Gagsina to Munak, the tyre of their truck burst.
After this, they parked the truck on the left side and started changing the tyre.
Sagar further said that he was standing on the road and signalling the vehicles coming and going. Suddenly, a speeding truck hit his car from Gagsina’s side. The collision was so strong that the truck crushed Chand and Digambar, who were standing ahead and fell away. After this, the accused truck driver also hit a Swift car, due to which the glass of that vehicle broke.
The investigating officer of Moonak police station said that the police have taken both bodies into custody and sent them for post-mortem. After the post-mortem, the bodies will be handed over to the relatives.
The police are seriously investigating this matter.
