Karnal: On one hand, the Haryana government is giving relief to the farmers by giving tubewell connections and increasing the load; on the other hand, the electricity employees sitting in the electricity department are demanding bribes instead of increasing the load of the tubewells of the farmers.
One such case has come to light in the Bada Gaon Complaint Center of CM City Karnal, where on Thursday late evening, the ACB arrested the assistant lineman (contracted ALM) red-handed with a bribe of Rs 10 thousand.
The lineman was demanding a bribe to increase the load of the farmer’s tubewell. The farmer complained about the bribe-taking lineman to the ACB on Thursday itself, and the ACB took immediate action, laid a trap, and arrested the accused red-handed from Bada Gaon itself.
The police will interrogate the accused thoroughly so that it can also be revealed whether the accused lineman has taken any bribe from anyone before. If needed, the accused will be produced in court and taken on remand.
The accused ALM is a resident of Shahpur village. The Anti-Corruption Bureau had received a complaint demanding a bribe against ALM Sachin posted at the complaint center located in Bara village. Sachin had demanded a bribe of Rs 10,000 from the complainant to increase the load of the tubewell.
After the complaint, the team led by ACB Inspector Tejpal laid a trap outside and inside the complaint center located in Bara village. The complainant reached the accused with the money. The accused came near the gate to take the money. As soon as 10 thousand rupees were given to the ALM, the ACB team caught the accused on the spot and took him with them.
A case was registered against accused Sachin in ACB police station Karnal under Section 7 of the IPC PC Act 1988. Inspector Tejpal said that the accused is being interrogated, and so far it has come to light that he had taken a bribe instead of increasing the load. The account was only 10 thousand. An intensive investigation is being carried out. This is also being investigated. The accused will be produced in court today.
