OPD to remain Shut as Doctors in Government Hospitals go on strike

It is said that a meeting of the association officials will be organized with Health Minister Anil Vij.

Kurukshetra: The OPD in Government hospitals of Haryana will remain shut today as doctors have gone on strike. Following the strike, the doctors will not be performing duties in the labor room and post-mortem along with general surgery in the hospitals. No new patients will be admitted in the government hospitals today. Apart from this, Government doctors will not be involved in training, Divyang Camp, Blood donation camps or any medical duty.

Threatening the administration, Haryana Civil Medical Services Association has said that if the demands of the doctors are not accepted then from December 29 there will be a complete closure of OPD as well as emergency services will also be stopped.

Government Doctors in Haryana have demanded several things including the formation of a specialist cadre, a dynamic assured career progression (ACP) scheme (on par with central government doctors), no direct recruitment of SMOs and a reduction in bond amount for PG courses. As per the doctors, the Haryana Government has increased the amount of surety bond from Rs 50 lakh to 1 crore making it difficult for the doctors to continue PG courses.

It is anticipated that there may be a meeting of the Medical association with Minister Anil Vij. President of Haryana Civil Medical Services Association, Dr. Rajesh Khayaliya said that yesterday he had a meeting with the DG of Health Department, Dr. RS Poonia. Although no solution was found regarding the demands, it has been discussed that a meeting of the association officials will be organized with Home and Health Minister Anil Vij.
