Panchkula: Three members of family duped of over Rs 39 lakh in pretext of stock market investment

On the basis of the complaint, Sector-12 Cyber ​​​​Police Station has registered an FIR of fraud and started investigating the matter.

Panchkula: A case of fraud of Rs 39 lakh 10 thousand 912 has come to light with three members of a family living in Sector-7 of Panchkula. As per the complainants, they were lured in the name of investment in the stock market. On the basis of the complaint, Sector-12 Cyber ​​​​Police Station has registered an FIR of fraud and started investigating the matter.

According to the police, Sector-7 resident Mansi Sahay told in the complaint that on December 18, 2023, her father saw an advertisement on Facebook account about learning the tricks of the stock market. Her father clicked on it and opened the link. After opening the link, he entered all the information as mentioned in the link.

He was further asked to join a group through a link to know about the share market. On the behest of Soumya Thakur, her father had taken one thousand shares in the month of March whose value was one lakh 50 thousand rupees from which they have made a profit of 35 thousand from it.

On being lured by the profits, both the siblings joined the group on the advice of the complainant’s father. On April 2, 2024, he talked about crypto currency and all three registered on the site mentioned to them.  They put one and a half lakh rupees and after 15-20 minutes, profit started appearing in the account on their app which convinced them about the application.

All three invested more money in greed of more profit. All three invested a total of 39 lakh 10 thousand 912 rupees in it but when they tried to withdraw money from the app, the money did not come out. They talked to the accused, the accused told them that they could not withdraw any money, but only can only deposit it. After this, the complainant got suspicious and complained to the police.
