Voting was held on Sunday for the Panipat Municipal Corporation elections. After the voting, the EVMs have been sealed in the strong room. A strong room has been made for EVMs in the sports complex of Arya College. Two layers of security have been deployed here. Police will be deployed at the strong room 24 hours a day.
Voting was held in the Panipat Municipal Corporation on Sunday. EVMs were deposited in the strong room till late night. Here the EVMs were sealed and security was deployed. Counting of votes will be done on March 12 along with the rest of the bodies in Panipat. District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Dr. Virendra Kumar Dahiya said that the Municipal Corporation elections have been completed peacefully. Now preparations are being made for the counting of votes.
Superintendent of Police Lokendra Singh said that a special security ring has been prepared at the strong room for the security of EVMs. The strong room will remain under two layers of security till the counting of votes. Every corner of the strong room has been equipped with cameras. HAP personnel have been deployed in the first layer. District police personnel are deployed in the second layer.
Nodal officer appointed
Deputy Superintendent of Police City Rajbir Singh has been appointed as the nodal officer for the security of the strong room. Also, City Police Station in-charge Inspector Anil has been appointed to assist him. Along with this, special instructions have been given for patrolling the area around the strong room site.
