Haryana: Caste-based murder erupts, over water pot touching

The brother of the deceased has given a complaint against the named person to the Sadar police station. The police is investigating the matter.

Haryana: Even after the 75 years of Independence untouchabiltity is not gone completely. A person who had gone to the well to drink water on Sunday night was beaten and injured in village Sehlang of sub-division in Mahendragarh, Haryana.

He was being taken for treatment, where he died on the way. The brother of the deceased has lodged a complaint against the named person with the Sadar police station. Police has started the investigation of the matter.

In the complaint given to the police, Mahendra Singh, a resident of Sehlang village, said that on Sunday night at around 9 pm, his brother had left Kirori house saying that he was going to sleep in the plot. On Monday morning, Jitendra resident Sehlang told him that his brother was lying unconscious in an injured state at the Kirori well.

After the information, when he reached the spot with his family members, the brother was found lying in a bloody condition. When he regained consciousness after being splashed with water, he told that he had gone to the well of Jitendra alias Tuna from his plot at night to drink water. When he touched the pot, Jitendra alias Tuna beat him severely with an iron rod, calling him caste related words.

On Monday after informing the village sarpanch about the incidentmorning, he was taken to Civil Hospital Mahendragarh in an ambulance, but the seriously injured Kirori died on the way. Sadar police station Kanina has started investigation against the accused Jitendra alias Tuna on the complaint of the brother of the deceased. However, the police has not yet registered a case regarding the incident.

Inspector Ramnath, Sadar police station in-charge Kanina said while giving a complaint on behalf of the family members, a named person has been accused of murder. The complaint of the relatives of the deceased has been taken. The police are still investigating this matter. Action will be taken on the basis of whatever facts come to light.
