Sirsa: Husband and wife arrest fraud case Rs 65 lakh

They were deceived about huge profits in insurance policies and are residents of Delhi.

Sirsa: Police have arrested a woman and her husband from Delhi in the case of cheating a woman from Sirsa city, Haryana, of Rs 65 lakh by luring her about huge profits in an insurance policy. The case was being investigated by the team of the Cyber Crime Police Station. The police are interrogating the couple.

Sirsa SP Vikrant Bhushan said that the arrested accused have been identified as Sumit Kumar, a resident of Karawal Nagar, Delhi, and Tania, the wife of Sumit Kumar, a resident of Ambedkar Nagar, Delhi. The arrested accused have been produced in court and taken on a two-day police remand. Four mobile phones have been recovered from their possessions.

Superintendent of Police Vikrant Bhushan said that five accused involved in this incident have already been arrested. During the remand period, the amount of fraud will be recovered on the identification of the accused, and action will also be taken against them by obtaining information about their other accomplices. The Superintendent of Police said that taking the case of fraud of Rs 65 lakh with the woman seriously, a special team of Cyber Crime Police Station Sirsa was formed.

The arrested accused and their associates had defrauded a woman in Sirsa city of Rs 65 lakh by luring her with huge profits in the name of an insurance policy. In this regard, on September 27, 2023, an investigation was started by registering a case at Cyber Crime Police Station Sirsa under various criminal sections.
