Panipat: Police found narcotics in a bag at the Samalkha bus stand in the Panipat district of Haryana. The team had arrived here based on information. After seeing the police at the bus stand, the accused passenger ran away, leaving his bag.
When his bag was checked, about 20 kg of poppy husk was found in it. Passengers told me that the youth had boarded the bus after buying a ticket from Delhi ISBT. Police have registered a case against the unknown accused under the NDPS Act.
ASI Rajbir Singh of CIA-3 said in a complaint lodged at Samalkha police station that he was on patrol with the team. Then a special informant called on WhatsApp and informed him that a 22-year-old youth was coming to Samalkha bus stand from Delhi by boarding a Haryana Roadways bus.
He has a trolley bag that is suspected to contain narcotics. The team left for the Samalkha bus stand in a private vehicle. When the team reached the bus stand, the bus was standing there. The police team started checking it. Meanwhile, a young man got off the bus with his trolley bag.
Due to the large number of passengers at the bus stand, the said youth dodged the police and escaped by leaving the trolley bag at the bus stand. The team searched for him nearby, but he was not found. After this, the bag was checked in the presence of the duty magistrate. From which 19 kg (880 grams) of the narcotic substance chura poppy were recovered. Passengers said the youth had boarded the bus after taking a ticket from Delhi ISBT.
