Pollution Control Board team gheraoed in Fatehabad for taking action against farmer for burning stubble

Seeing the increasing number of farmers, when the team of officials started leaving from there, the farmers surrounded them and started questioning them.

Fatehabad: Farmer organizations surrounded the team of the Pollution Control Board that reached the farmer’s field after the location of a farmer setting fire to stubble was registered on Lali Road in Ratia, Fatehabad, Haryana. Representatives of farmer organizations questioned the team about the problems faced by farmers due to not burning stubble.

Farmer leaders warned that if a case is registered against any farmer, a red entry is made or fine is imposed, then farmer organizations will be forced to unite and protest strongly against it. On receiving information about the siege of officials, officials of the Agriculture Department and the police team also reached the spot. The farmers were assured by the city police station in charge and the police took the team of Pollution Control Board officials with them.

According to the information, the team of the Pollution Control Board had received information under the location that stubble was being set on fire by a farmer on Lali Road. After this, a team led by SDO Deepu Khatkar of the Pollution Control Board reached the spot. As soon as the team started taking action in the matter of setting fire to stubble, the farmer informed the BKU leaders.

Many farmers reached the spot under the leadership of Nirbhay Singh Ratia, District President of Bharatiya Kisan Union Ekta Ugrahan. Farmers started opposing the action of the team. Seeing the increasing number of farmers, when the team of officials started leaving from there, the farmers surrounded them and started questioning them.

The farmer leaders gave detailed information to the officials about the problems faced by the farmers due to not burning the stubble and said that till now the government has not been able to provide the farmers with their alternatives and machinery, due to which the farmers are suffering losses worth lakhs and due to lack of alternatives, they are forced to set fire.
