Faridabad: A prisoner lodged in Neemka jail in Faridabad, Haryana, died under suspicious circumstances. When the jail staff took the prisoner to the hospital, he had already died. Son Jaiprakash alleged that he was told on the phone from Neemka jail that his father was in BK Hospital. Go and meet him. After a lot of searching, the staff nurse told him that he had died. The body has been kept for a postmortem. No one even allowed his father to see him.
According to the information, Jagdish Prasad (46) was originally from Bihar. He lived with his family in the Santosh Nagar area of Faridabad for 20 years. About one and a half years ago, the police arrested Jagdish Prasad on charges of fighting and selling drugs. He has been in jail since then. He died in suspicious circumstances in jail on Wednesday.
Jagdish’s son, Jaiprakash, said that after his father’s death, the police did not contact him for about 24 hours. Due to this, he could not see his father for the last time. After this incident, the whole family is crying inconsolably.
Many cases were registered against the deceased.
Jaiprakash said that his father, Jagdish Prasad, was about 46 years old. One and a half years ago, his father was arrested by the police on charges of fighting and selling marijuana. During this time, his father’s health started deteriorating. He appealed for his father’s bail, but his father was not granted bail.
Jaiprakash said that he feels that his father was assaulted in jail. Due to this, he died. If his father’s health was very bad, then why was he admitted only yesterday? Before this, his father should have been treated properly. He suspects that either he was murdered in Neemka jail or his father died due to the negligence of Neemka jail officers.
However, the police have handed over the body of the deceased Jagdish Prasad to his family after conducting his postmortem today. In this case, the investigating officer, Sanjay, said that by the time the Neemka jail staff brought the deceased Jagdish Prasad to Badshah Khan Civil Hospital, he had already died.
