License of former head of Chandigarh HC Bar Council cancelled

In that case, the High Court had ordered Chandigarh SSP Kanwardeep Kaur to investigate the matter herself.

Chandigarh: The problems of former Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Council Vikas Malik are increasing. Now the Bar Council has also cancelled his license. After this, he will not be able to practice law anywhere. He can appeal against this to the Bar Council of India. However, Vikas Malik says that the action taken against him is wrong.

The license cannot be cancelled like this during the investigation.

Lawyer Anjali Kakkar had filed a petition in the Punjab and Haryana High Court. While hearing that petition, the High Court ordered the Bar Council to hear the complaints of female lawyers along with the fund scam. If Vikas Malik does not cooperate, then an order should be issued against him as well.

The Bar Council has given this decision only after this order of the High Court. Recently, a case of assault on a lawyer was also registered against Vikas Malik. In that case, the High Court had ordered Chandigarh SSP Kanwardeep Kaur to investigate the matter herself.

The victim advocate, Ranjit Singh, alleged that he had gone to the office of Bar Council President Vikas Malik to give him a handwritten summons because he was fighting a case with him. On this, he and his 7-8 companions started beating him.

He was injured in the fight. After getting injured, he was admitted to the government hospital in Sector 16. On receiving information from Sector 16, the police team reached the spot and recorded his statements from the hospital itself. Based on his statements, a case was registered against four people.
