Haryana: Rohtak parliamentary constituency returning officer Ajay Kumar said that voting will be held on May 25 under the sixth phase of Lok Sabha general elections. The election campaign will end 48 hours before voting i.e. on May 23 at 6 pm.
Campaigning after the stipulated period of completion of election campaign will be a violation of model conduct. Action will be taken against those who do so.
DC Ajay Kumar said that on May 24, election materials will be distributed to the polling parties by the concerned Assistant Returning Officers and sent to the polling stations. The polling parties will conduct a mock poll on May 25 at 5.30 am in the presence of polling agents as per the instructions of the Election Commission.
After completing the mock poll process, the control unit will be cleared. Voting will start at 7 am on May 25 and will end at 6 pm. If some voters are standing in queues to vote in the polling center till 6 pm, then voting of all of them will be ensured.
DC and District Election Officer Ajay Kumar said that as per the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India, on the day of voting on May 25 and counting on June 4, liquor will not be allowed in any liquor shop, hotel, restaurant, club and other establishments selling/serving liquor. Selling and serving will not be allowed.
All liquor shops located in the state of Haryana will remain closed during 48 hours from the start of voting and till the completion of counting on the day of counting i.e. June 4. The prohibition prescribed in excise laws on possession and storage of liquor in unlicensed premises will be strictly enforced.
Smoking banned within 200 meter radius of polling booth: Civil Surgeon Dr. Anil Birla said that there will be a ban on smoking within 200 meter radius of polling booths on the day of voting for the Lok Sabha general elections on May 24. There are 4000 toxic elements present in tobacco which can cause more than 22 diseases. Tobacco is deadly. Stay away from its consumption.
