A case of the beating of two minor children has come to light in the village of Bhaini Bhairo of Meham in Rohtak. The case is related to the theft of gold jewellery. One child is accused of stealing jewellery from the other’s house. Both children are 10 and 11 years old and are friends.
Both the families had reached the police station with their children. During interrogation, the accused child told about hiding the jewellery in many places. The police took him to every place mentioned, but he kept changing his statement again and again. The accused’s family kept saying that their son has not stolen anything.
Allegation of brutal beating by police
The family in whose house the theft took place said that they want to solve the matter with the brotherhood of village instead of mutual hatred. At the same time, the family of the accused child has accused the police of brutal beating. Injury marks have been found on the children’s bodies. Late on Thursday night, both of them were given medical treatment in the general hospital.
An attempt to defame, says SHO
SHO Subhash said that it was not the police who beat the children, but their family members. He said that an attempt is being made to defame the police. His argument is that why the police would not beat such young children. The parents have demanded action against the guilty policemen.
