Rohtak police arrests killer of suspended policeman

First drank alcohol, then murdered to take revenge for the attack on his father.

Rohtak: Rohtak Police has arrested the accused involved in the murder of dismissed Haryana Police personnel Bijendra, a resident of village Sanghi. The accused was produced in the court and taken on a 2-day police remand. Interrogation of the accused revealed that he was murdered to take revenge for a fight with his father.

Sadar police station in-charge inspector Satpal Singh said that the police had received information that Bijendra was injured in village Sanghi. The police immediately reached the spot and started action. Bijendra’s hands and feet were tied, and injury marks were found all over his body. Bijendra died due to the injury. A case was registered based on the complaint of the deceased’s wife, Sonia. Initial investigation revealed that on July 24, at around 10 a.m., Sonia’s brother-in-law Balwan informed her that Bijendra was murdered in Dharambir’s meeting.

Investigation in-charge ASI Mukesh of Police post-Ghilod arrested the accused Sunil alias Bhola. Investigation revealed that deceased Bijendra had attacked Sunil alias Bhola’s father with a sickle. Bijendra’s nephew had attacked Sunil alias Bhola with a knife. Keeping a grudge of these things, Bijendra was murdered. Bijendra and Sunil’s houses are nearby. Bijendra was sitting in Dharambir’s meeting room with him. On the night of 23 July, Sunil alias Bhola also came to the meeting room and started consuming alcohol. After consuming alcohol, Sunil went to get a stick from his enclosure to kill Bijendra. When he came back, he did not find Bijendra and Dharambir in the meeting room. Sunil kept waiting there to kill Bijendra.

On 24 July, at around 6 am, Dharambir and Bijendra brought a bottle of alcohol to Dharambir’s meeting room. Dharambir went to the farm. Bijendra and Sunil started consuming alcohol. Bijendra got intoxicated after consuming too much alcohol and fell asleep on the cot. Sunil tied Bijendra’s hands and legs with a rope lying nearby. Bijendra did not die even after Sunil attacked him with a stick. After killing Bijendra, Sunil fled from the spot with the stick.
