SC Grants Bail to Ashoka University Professor Ali Khan, constitutes SIT 

The court said that during the bail, Mahmoodabad will not make any comment or give any speech about Operation Sindoor

Associate Professor Ali Khan Mahmoodabad of Haryana’s Ashoka University, who posted on social media about the Army’s Operation Sindoor, has been granted conditional bail by the Supreme Court.

The court said that during the bail, Mahmoodabad will not make any comment or give any speech about Operation Sindoor and the terrorist attacks or retaliation in India.

The court also refused to stop the investigation against Mahmoodabad. To investigate the case, the court ordered the formation of an SIT of 3 IPS officers within 24 hours, which will include a woman officer. Also, no officer from Haryana and Delhi will be included in the SIT. The court has ordered Mahmoodabad to surrender his passport and cooperate in the investigation.

2 FIRs were registered against Professor Ali Khan in Sonipat, Haryana. He is accused of making controversial remarks about Operation Sindoor and the subsequent press conference of the Army.
