Hisar: Today is the second day of the flower fair at Gate No. 4 of Haryana Agricultural University. The fair started on Friday, January 3, and will continue till January 5. This time the fair has been extended till Sunday which will be for 3 days. This time the target has been set that more than 10 thousand people will come to the fair.
More than 100 varieties of flowers have been kept in the fair. Additionally, vegetables and fruit plants that can be grown at home in urban areas have been displayed here. Agritourism has been promoted at the fair. It was said that despite less space, without soil and less water, we can grow fruits and vegetables at home with the help of new management like vertical farming, hand ydroponic.
HAU Vice Chancellor Prof. BR Kamboj inaugurated the festival yesterday. Prof. Kamboj visited the herbal garden, medicinal plants, Navgrah Vatika, nurseries, gardens, and other horticulture sections. The VC said that along with traditional farming, the youth should also give priority to the cultivation of flowers, fruits, and vegetables so that they can increase their income.
He said that earlier this festival was organized for two days but keeping in mind the demand of the general public, the university administration has made it a three-day festival.
