Ambala: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Haryana minister Anil Vij said during a press conference on Sunday that if the party returns to power after the assembly elections to be held on October 05 in the state, he will stake claim for the post of Chief Minister. However, even before this comment of Vij, who has been a 06-time MLA, the BJP has made it clear that if it returns to power, Nayab Singh Saini will be the Chief Minister.
Vij said, “I have never asked for anything from the party till date. People of Haryana are coming to meet me. Even in Ambala, people tell me that I am the most senior, but I did not become the Chief Minister. Based on the demand and seniority of the people, this time I will stake claim to become the Chief Minister. Vij, MLA from Ambala Cantt, said, whether the party makes me the Chief Minister or not, it depends on the party, but if I am made the Chief Minister, I will change the fate and picture of Haryana.”
When asked for clarification on the comment made while talking to reporters in Ambala, Vij later told that he is the most senior MLA of the party has won the election six times, and is now contesting the seventh election. He added that he has never asked for anything from my party till now, but people from all over Haryana and his constituency are meeting and asking why he did not become CM.
